First, yes the shelves are plastic, however it's pretty sturdy. I'm not saying to put laundry detergent on it, but I put this under my bathroom sink and it's a great solution especially compared to white wire racks where everything always falls over.The slides are smooth as they're ball bearing, they are not full extension as some other reviews have complained it doesn't pull out that far. It's certainly better than a stationary shelf, or nothing.It says to mount 3 inches back from the front of the cabinet which if you're going to use the hooks on the front to hang something you will want to do, however I have no use for the hooks to I mounted it 1/2 inch back which means it pulls out further as well. The dividers are nice to help keep taller tubes, lotions, etc upright as you slide it in and out. For less than $20, I can't see how you can go wrong.I liked these more than I expected. It’s great for organizing a vanity without drawers. The inserts and hooks are convenient. The plastic seems to hold up okay I was worried when I first got them but I put a ton of stuff on (heavy things like hair dryer and ceramics) holding up still.I like them but they don't really fit under my sinks due to pleumbing... but tI can and will find other uses for them…the more I need these little conveniences. This was so easy to put together and install. I have them under my kitchen sink and both bathroom sinks. At 51, the last thing I need in life is to get down on the floor to dig way back in a cabinet to get some windex that has been pushed back by other things. This helps me stay organized and makes it easy to grab things.Love this product! it helps us keep the area underneath our bathroom sink well organized. Wished the basket walls were a little taller, that's my only gripe.Easy to assemble but it's a little flimsy.
